Our purpose for obtaining this land is to develop a safe, beautiful, and inspiring place where  like-minded people can come to unite with nature, rejuvenate, be inspired, and create. We feel that there is a strong need for this in our lives and in the lives of our family, friends and community.

Straw Hill Farm is a uniquely beautiful and self-sustaining retreat, convenient to New York City, New Paltz, and Woodstock, yet nestled among thousands of acres of the "forever wild" tree-laiden catskill mountains. There is an aquifer-fed spring which provides clean, fresh water. The water is then gravity-fed through the house and barn and then runs off to a sweet and meditative pond-home to Bass fish and other wildlife. 

A few acres of the land surrounding the house is cleared and ready to be used for planting, as we are looking forward to developing a large organic garden and green house. The serene sound of flowing water comes from a seasonal brook which extends through the property. There are wild turkeys, deer, black bears, coyote, a beautiful array of birds (including bald eagles), and a many other critters that reside in this area. The land is also home to an incredible array of plant life including a small apple orchard as well as a variety of berry bushes and flowers.

There is an unlimited amount of inspiration and potential in this land. We look forward to working hard to develop its special characteristics together with the wonderful people in our lives!
